Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a dark mahogany with a thin off white head. The aroma is a little earthy peat leading to a medium bitter flavour with roasted malt, a little liqourice and weak coffee on the palate. It’s a little watery, but quite refreshing.

Bottle shared thanks to Jmgreenuk. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt. Lots of roasty malt. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter, and full of roast. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation, and a fair bit of roast. Roasty!

Cask at Earl of Essex - London. Pours brown with a creamy head. Nose holds some ashy roast and hints of blackberries. Light sweet flavor with sweet, fairly juicy blackberries, subtle milk chocolate, some toasty bread. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet blackberry finish, ripe berries, mellow toasty bread, dark sugars. Very tasty stuff.

Bottle at CGarvie tasting. It pours hazy golden with a thin off-white head. The nose is ginger, liquid hand soap, fiery spice, lemonade and perfume. The taste is soap, earth, ginger, lemon, hand-wash, subtle whisky and spicy ginger beer with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Odd, but I don’t actually mind it. Reminiscent of ginger & lemon tea.

Bottle at CGarvie tasting. It pours dark brown with a small off-white head. The nose is roasted malt, cake, brown bread, spice and chocolate. The taste is very tangy indeed....tangy green apple, dominant sourness, whisky, earth, toast, alcohol warmth and rubber with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Clearly infected.
