Draught, taster @MBCC 2023, Copenhagen (Denmark). 05/05/2023. [#6.287 Global - #1.035 United States of America - #2 Enegren Brewing Company] Pours black with a tan head. Long retention. Aroma: mild smoked malts, dark chocolate and some brown sugar. Taste: mild smokey and malty. Traces of smoked meat and coffee beans. Next one please!

Draught, taster @MBCC 2023, Copenhagen (Denmark). 05/05/2023. [#6.286 Global - #1.034 United States of America - #1 Enegren Brewing Company (My brewery #269 from the States)] Pours yellow with a white head. Aroma: pilsner malts, some stone fruiys and dough. Taste: gently hoppy for a helles, floral and malty. Good palate cleanse. Next one please!

So, perhaps controversial, but I think the nose here is more exciting than Aecht Schlenkerla. Stunning, lovely wood smoke, with fruity tinges. It doesn’t quite live up to those, but an excellent example of the style. Lovely smoky malt, smooth body.
