Sampled at GCBF 2010 as well. Golden, creamy head Oak aroma. One-dimensional flavor, can’t taste underlying beer. Velvety mouthfeel. No pleasure.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, caramel, hops, and straw, leading to a dry bitter finish. The alcohol burns the palate. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

Black color; generous compact head. Nice coffee aroma, and baking (bread dough) yeast. Dry and lean mouthfeel; roasted malt and coffee flavor; again, some yeast. But overall, a pleasant Porter or Stout.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, as Driftwood Eponymous Ale
Deep blond color; creamy head. Nice aroma of fruity hops and white refined sugar, a bit earthy too. Dry mouthfeel, some malt, grassy, but also with traces of vegetables, leading to some final astringency; strong bitterness, also a bit minty; not a bad recipe, but probably not the best batch.

Hazy yellow pee color; small head. Aroma of laboratorized Belgian yeast, light chamomile and hay, light plastic, light medicines; it kinda misses the point for being a Saison, or Farmhouse Ale as promised on the label. The mouthfeel is quite dry, there are light lemony tones; the bitterness is high; some traces of Belgian yeast, but not enough of its character. Mediocre.

Blond and clean, small head. Piney aroma, no old school malt nonsense here. Dry, crisp, with toasted bread base, but overwhelmed by piney, resinous hopping, and massive bitterness; almost minty. I've had brighter west coast IPAs, this is not one, but it's modern and very solid.

2015-06-02, bottled 2015-05-15, 8-5-7-4-16=40
The aroma is more resiny than fruity. The mouthfeel is rather dry but not weak, and the hops have also an animal character. It starts becoming a bit hard/harsh.
Less impressed than I was some time ago, but still very good, and better than a glass from tap I had last week.

2013-01-02, draught at Kingston Taphouse and Grille, Vancouver, 7-4-7-4-14=36
Amber color, hazy, small head; served too cold. The aroma seems mild compared to the usual; some nice hops, a bit fruity. Good caramel flavor, but it's a bit too strong and covers partially the hopping; the bitterness is strong, with some pleasant resins but almost no fruitiness from the hops; the final is very strong and obviously long.
Good, but without the fresh qualities that made it famous.

2012-08-07, draught at Barney's on Main St., Vancouver, 7-4-8-5-15=39
Hazy light amber color. Nice aroma, the hops provide a citrusy character. Good dry toffee flavor, with fresh hopping, a lot of dry resins, piney character, followed by some hop fruitiness.
Very good for the summer.

2012-01-11, draught at St. Augustine's, Vancouver, 7-4-8-4-15=38
Hazy amber color, with creamy head. Nice aroma, hoppy, fruity, sweaty. Good toffee flavor, with very strong bitterness; the aromatic hop gives resiny and fruity character, although sometimes on the bottle it seems fresher. Too bitter in the end.

2011-12-30, bottle from BC Liquors on Bute, Vancouver, 8-5-8-5-16=42
Beautiful golden color, with medium head. Powerful hops, playing with grass, hay and resins; caramelly and toffeish flavor, providing a steady but clean backbone; a hint of fruits. Very solid; this beer confirms itself.

2011-03-02, bottle from Liberty Wine, Robson St., Vancouver, 8-5-8-5-16=42
Beautiful orange-golden color; generous compact head. Powerful hoppy aroma: fruity, citrusy, piney, resiny. Smooth and sweetish toffee flavor, strong, with a good share of fresh piney hops. Strong and long final. Very good, balanced, although a bit heavy, with a pleasant degree of freshness.
