Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Lightly hazy amber beer, small white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Dry malts. Sweet and spicy esters. Dry floralness. Mild spice, very mild. Light semi dry finish. Estery but okay.

Bottle from BEER shop, Hitchin. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, nutty, lightly smoked, dark fruits and chocolate. Moderate sweetness and roasted bitterness. Body is a bit lighter than the average porter, slightly oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Finish is roasted, nutty and woody.

330ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours opaque brown with a thin off-white head. Aromas of tart fruit, plum skin. Stones too. Strong damson taste. Lightly funky. Dry. Light yeast spice esters. Like a dry red wine. Grew on me.
