Description
The Cricketers Arms pub on Peter Street, which was named CAMRA National Pub of the Year in 2017 and was also a finalist the following year, has earned a strong reputation for its real ales. Now it is looking forward to adding the next stage of its business after launching its own brewery called Howzat. Located on site it will brew beers at the pub which will go on sale in the pub and to be sold elsewhere.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours golden yellow with minimal scummy off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly sharp citrus with some hints of caramel. In the mouth it ticks both the sweet and sharp boxes. Citrus is dominant over all other flavours, lemon, lime mango and some oranges. Finish is dry and sticky. Not a bad beer per se, but too much citrus for my liking.

Gravicask, half-pint, shared with Finn. Pitch black in the glass, bare naked surface, fragile lacing. Smoothly roasted aromas with chocolate malts. Tasty with chocolate and a bite of liquorice. Roasted bitter ending. Nice with the cheese board at the festival.

Gravicask, half-pint, shared with Finn. A clear golden body, scattered lacing from a tiny white head. Moderate smell of lemony hops with a floral scent. Hop fruity taste of citrus with lemony hops to the fore. Distant bitter twist to the ending. Thirst quencher qualities.

Light brown colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have lightly sweet malts. Smooth. A bit thinnish but a good session bitter with a light floral bitterness.
