Description
BEERBIRD IS BORN !

The first beer from this hobby brewer (and former ostrich farmer…) in Erpe-Mere gone limitedly commercial; this guy deserves respect for brewing and bottling almost all his beer himself, outside of a few batches he had brewed at BeerSelect. Egg-white, cobweb-lacing, opening head, hazy warm peach blonde robe with orangey tinge. Aroma of ripe apricot, pineapple, old honey, dry straw, potato peel. Fruity onset, fizzy carbonation, hints of banana and peach, but not overly sweet and feeling quite crisp; bready malt core with slight toasty edge, spicy phenolic notes (clove), a pinch of coriander and a grassy hop bitter note fill the finish, along with gently warming, calvados-like alcohol which, even for a tripel, could perhaps be better hidden especially considering this beer falls below 8% ABV (which in itself is on the low side to call itself ‘tripel’ if you ask me). Somewhat aged batch if I understood the brewer correctly, indeed showing subtle signs of maturation; very decent tripel, certainly for a firstborn.

Zythos 2022. Pale hazy blond colour. It's fairly light and fresh, moderately bitter. There is something slightly green and earthy that hints towards chicory/witlof.

Hazy amber colour, white foam. Nose of citrus, butter, cheese, 'putteke'. Taste is sweet, citrussy, lots of diacetyl, unbalanced, harsh bitter. Not good at all.
