Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense and creamy light tan head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense creamy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, coffee, toast, brown bread, light herbal, and roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of roast/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, coffee, toast, brown bread, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Light earthy herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, roast, coffee, toast, brown bread, herbal, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice and pleasant balance of roast/bready malt flavors; with solid robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, lush, and creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4%. Overall this is a nice dry stout. Good balance and robustness of roast/bready malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Can picked up at Yamaya on sale due to it being near the expiry date & drunk to celebrate St-Patrick’s Day in a pint glass. It poured with that rising foam look of a nitro or cask beer thanks to the widget - beautiful stouty goodness. Pitch black in the glass with a thick creamy beige head that coats the sides of the glass in thick layer of foam as I drink the beer. The nose is creamy roast malts. Great smooth body but a bit light, almost watery. The taste is mild, much milder than Shiga Kogen’s Domestic Dry Stout. It gives me a light bitterness, dark chocolate, pitted fruits & a touch of coffee. Good but kind of middle of the road, my favorite things about this beer are it’s appearance & body.

Pours dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt and chocolate. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with a dry chocolate finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Can. It pours a reddish dark brown body under a creamy, two-finger dark beige head leaving lacings. Milk chocolate and roasted malts in the aroma, not much else going on. Some coffee in the flavor, else it’s the same milk chocolate and roasted malts. Rather thin on the palate, just like expected. Soft carbonation, and a rather short finish. Well, considering the ABV, I’m not gonna complain, but I can’t imagine I’ll have this one again. 140315

Klar brunorange i fargen med hvitt skum som legger seg fort. Honning, karamell og lukt av tørket frukt. Litt besk smak, noe skogsbæeaktig sødme. Medium kullsyre.

50cl can from a Supermarket in Sweden. Pours very dark, close to black, with a beige nitro head. Moderate aroma of roasted malt with mild licorice and hints of chocolate and hops. Moderate sweet with fairly mild roasty flavours and a light, but pleasantly bitter finish. A bit thin and watery, but quite drinkable.

Tap at O’Reillys, Amsterdam. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head and no lace. The aroma is weak malt leading to a medium bitter flavour with a watery hop malt palate and a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. It’s refreshing when served cool but it’s no classic and needs that coolness to mask the real flavours.

Can from Bert’s Pours a solid dark brown with faint garnet highlights at the edges and a huge creamy tan head that persists forever and ever. Aromas of earthy roasty coffee and light cream with a hint of vanilla and chocolate. The flavor is a slightly mineralized caramel and coffee with bits of earth and roast. Medium to light body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a creamy watery mouthfeel and a lingering roasted bitterness on the palette. Easy drinking somewhat flavorful creamy ale. I could pound a few of these back if I were in it for the long haul.

Nitro-can: (as Imported Stout Draught Style) Pours deep, cascading , layered browns with a frothy, tan/oatmeal head. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Flavour is bitter, dark chocolate, cream.... Slightly roasty and smoky chocolate malt. A little ashy bittering. Light and slightly watery, but very pleasant.
