Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 04/05/2012. The beer is a hazy orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates slowly. Short strings of lace. Aroma of floral hops and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of hops, earthy malt and citrus. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tall boy can. Pours clear gold with a tall white head. Good fresh hop aroma. The flavor has a good hop flavor and bitterness that is supported nicely by a firm malt base. I usually prefer IPAs, but this will suit an IPA lover easily. Not overly bitter but it’s not weak on the hops in any way.

It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and moderate carbonation. Dry ashiness dominates the taste with notes of chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Average stout, lacking the richness and complexity of better stouts.

Can. Light amber body with an off-white head, rapidly diminishing. Floral aroma with notes of toasted grain and not much else. The flavor lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture turning slightly syrupy, moderate carbonation. Husky taste. Bitterness dominates with few hop flavors except for some slight resin and grapefruit. Way too much raw grain in the flavor.

A hazed reddish copper ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a smooth caramel malt with light woody notes, light doughy notes. In mouth, a smooth nutty malt with light wooden notes, vanilla, warming alcohol, treacle and molasses, quite nice. On tap at FoBAB 2011.

I had this on tap at Farmhouse in Chicago, IL; was told by the bartender that I should get a different Finch’s beer instead of this one...and I agree now. It’s not that this is a bad brew, it is what it is (Belgian session ale). I didn’t take tasting notes so I can’t remember every detail about this one, but it was drinkable but left sour notes and had some off flavors. Finch’s is good stuff, this stuff isn’t the greatest though, just average.

I had this on tap at the Blind Robin in Chicago, IL after going to the 3 Floyds Brewpub with some good friends. I didn’t like this at all. It was too sweet, especially in the caramel malt department, and the only reason why I ordered this was because it was the only beer I haven’t rated at the bar and I wanted to try it. I can’t say I’m a fan of the clothing company, and I’m really not a fan of this beer. Threadless, I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Purchased at Armanetti’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed while working for home on a rainy Thursday afternoon. Appearance a very vibrant and slightly cloudy dark orange with a rich, frothy white head that sticks to the glass. Aroma of dirty & grassy hops, a bit of orange peel, a touch of sweetness, kinda smells like an IPA. Taste is pretty refreshing and in all honesty tastes like a slightly less hoppy version of Half Acre’s Daisy Cutter. It’s definitely \"sessionable\", a very smooth, crisp, and bitter easy drinker. Definitely enjoying this one, nothing outstanding but solid.
