Bottle, 5.2%. Slow gusher. Yeasty and spicy aroma, sugary, perhaps brown sugar. Dark brown colour, seems clear. Very big tan head, quite stable. The flavour is roasted with a mild coffee note. Low bitterness. Dark bread in the aftertaste. Not as sweet as the aroma suggests.

On tap at The Wildeemaan, Amsterdam, Netherlands on Saturday 01.10.11 Tricky to drink alongside the Laphroig BA Imp stout from Emelisse. However it is a very nice beer, soft mouthfeel, with a pleasant light citrus streak throughout, light bitterness, tasty good IPA. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

Bottle from Berts Bierhuis, Utrecht, Netherlands, 26.09.11 consumed outside Den Hoorn campsite, Texel island 27.09.11 Pours orange with a bubbly sticky white head, this really GUSHED out of the bottle I lost about a half of the contents. However the beer was decent, soft in mouth with some orange and spices, touch yeasty, hops showing which I believe from the description are centennial and Saaz, not bad at all despite the frustrating loss of half of it. Bottle @ home. Gusher! Hazy medium orange color, large foamy white head. Smell sweet, lightly fruity, spices and lightly hops. Taste hops and again some spices or herbs. Low carbonation, soft texture and low to medium body.

Bottle @ home. Slight gusher. Very dark brown color, just barely visible red glow. Average off-white head. Smell malts and sweet. Tastes a bit roasted. Thin texture, too much carbo, low body.

Tried this beer at Gouda Winterbierfestival 2011. It had floating hop parts in it, so it didn’t really make me eager to taste it. That observation prooved correct: not a nice taste. Didn’t appear nor taste like a black IPA to me.

Clear brown beer, residual tan head. Clean crispish palate. A light touch of dark malt with a whisper of smoke. Followed by a little creamy malt and a trace of orange fruit and light minerals. Well joined up and easy drinking beer.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Very hazy amber beer, good sized white head. Started as a slow frothy gusher, but quickly calmed down. Light crispish palate, semi dry. Creamy head and creamy malt. A little spice and carbonated bite. Trace of peach and orange and then hop bitterness. Crisp finish. Very drinkable.
