About
Macks Ølbryggeri is the northernmost brewery in the world. The brewery was founded in 1877 by Ludwig Markus Mack. Mack is the fourth largest brewery in Norway, and is probably one of the strongest brands from Northern Norway. Our main production is located in Nordkjosbotn, approximately 70 km from Tromsø. Mack's historical sites in Tromsø houses our administration, the beer shop Kjeller 5, our legendary pub Ølhallen and Mack Microbrewery.

Can from Gulating. Clear amber body under a medium sized tan head. A bit weak in aroma with malt and bread. Taste is medium sweet malt, hint of caramel, moderate bitterness. Medium to light bodied with short aftertaste. Drinkable, but feels a bit thin and average, not much going on here.

Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Heavy malty and mderate hoppy aroma. Moderte bitter flavor. Toffee notes. Long moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

330ml can from my local Coop Extra shop. Shared with Frau Eva outside at the sunny balcony. Crystal clear late straw coloured body, declining white head leaving dotted spots on the glass. Modest smell of pale malts. Distant notes of spiced malt-fruity taste. Rather diluted to the ending. Drinkable. (Tromsø, 10.06.2026).

Bjørnøy-Sandnes t/r med livgivende suppestasjon på Melkebaren! Helt til høyre på planken: lett uklar lys gylden med fint skum som varer lenge. Citrus, aprikos, furunål og noe kjeksaktig. Allikevel saftig, selv om avslutningen oppleves som litt tørr. En av de beste i et tett løp.

Canned 330ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him & Hrabren. Dark amber/almost brown coloured, medium sized pale beige head, malty and light pet food in the nose. Sweet malty, dried fruits, raisins and light pet food with notes of honey and alcohol in the finish. Too sweet overall.
