Macks Ølbryggeri is the northernmost brewery in the world. The brewery was founded in 1877 by Ludwig Markus Mack. Mack is the fourth largest brewery in Norway, and is probably one of the strongest brands from Northern Norway. Our main production is located in Nordkjosbotn, approximately 70 km from Tromsø. Mack's historical sites in Tromsø houses our administration, the beer shop Kjeller 5, our legendary pub Ølhallen and Mack Microbrewery.

330ml blue, expensive, bottle, 1117 of 1944, thanks to Finn for sharing at a rating session with him and lmojoh. Pours a back body with a deep ruby shade, naked at the surface, scattered lacing. Prominent oaky nose with dried fruits added by scent of port. Slightly unbalanced taste character of oak, dark berry-fruits and alcohol. Long-lived oaky ending with moments of port and Armagnac. Pleasing without further excitement. (Tromsø, 09.08.2023).

500 ml can, from Coop Extra, Tau. ABV is 4.7%. Slightly hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of fruity hops, some piney notes too. The mouthfeel is not too bad for a 4.7% session IPA. The flavour has typical "West Coast" notes of grapefruit and piney hops, decent bitterness. Maybe not so very special, but still one of Mack's better beers, this one.

500 ml can, from Bunnpris Sand. Golden colour, moderate white head. The sweetish aroma has hints of blood orange, but more distinct notes of artificial "orange" candy. Citric and thin mouthfeel. Citric flavour, hints of blood orange, not too sweet, moderate bitterness.
