About
Our brewery was located in Uckfield, East Sussex and we had a Oban 10BBL, 2-Vessel brewery with 400kg mashtun and custom-made copper/whirlpool. 4x fermentation vessels - 2x conical and 2x open-topped.

Our brewery is now (since May 2026) located in our bar “The Tasting Room” in the heart of Worthing, West Sussex. We have a 2.5BBL(400 litre), 2-Vessel brewery with 100kg mashtun. 2 open-topped fermentation vessels are currently located in the back room with 2 conical fermentation vessels hopefully coming soon and will be situated directly in the bar.

We created Merakai Brewing CO. on a foundation of Equality, Taste, and Community. From the people we collaborate with, the communities we support, and the people we employ.

We know there are like-minded people out there who are looking for something different, a change from the ‘norm’ and mainstream.

If you don’t think craft beer is for you. If you don’t feel or see yourself represented, we see you. Our craft beers are created and made for you and people like you.

440ml can, Gyle no. 28, bought at Vinmonopolet City Nord. Looks pretty nice in the glass with a rocky fawn-coloured head over a near black body, patchy lacing. Uninviting smell of prefumed chocolate and cocoa. Flavoured with tutti-frutti, cocoa, and lactose. Strange kind of taste, not to my liking. Possible to drink, most of the content went down the drain though. (Bodø Panorama 10.09.2022).

Tap@The Green Goddess Brewpub, Blackheath, London (07/08/2022) - black with a beige head. Sweet dark malty with loads of chocolate, caramel sweetness, milky chocolate, medium creamy body, vanilla laced dark sweet malty finish.

440ml can bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Shared with Finn at Bergstua. Remaining, bubbly, white head over a cloudy golden body, rich lacing. Moderate smell of mango and mid-dry citrus. Peachy flavours added by juicy oats. Ends fruity and rather sweet. A bit thin on the swallow. Fair enough. (Malangen 31.08.2022).

On tap at The Green Goddess Brewpub, Blackheath Standard. Black pour with a beige head. Chocolate, marshmallow & liquorice toffee aromas. Tunnocks tea cakes in the taste with a splash of dark fruit. Long bittersweet linger.

440ml can kindly shared by Finn. Bubbly fawn-coloured head resting on top of a deep dark brownish body. Upper part lacing. inviting smell of cocoa-chocolate and bread-like malts. Dark malt-forward taste bringing cocoa, liquorice, and a coffee bite. Roasted chocolate malty finish, rather sweet. Nice. (Session at Finn's place, Tromsø 21.07.2022).

Delt med Rune på Nerstranda. Svart. Middels høyt kremaktig skum med litt farge. Aroma av kakao & sjokolade. Smaken det samme. Kanskje litt lakris i avslutninga.

Fra fat på Lervig Local en fin formiddag i juli: uklar strågul med fint skum som varer. Superfrisk og meget smaksrik for et lettøl - tropiske frukter, mild citrus og hint av eukalyptus. Lettbent eleganse med stort pøsepotensiale.
