In 2011 we opened our local microbrewery in a former music club in Jihlava. Where DJs were in charge, we now had beer tanks, fermenters, brewhouse and we started our own ride.
Already in 2012, we with the semi-dark Sigismund placed third in the spring brewer price. A year later - 2013 - we were the third best microbrewery of the year and a year later we were the best microbrewery ever in the Czech Republic. And we also won the spring prize of Czech breweries with our wheat beer.
Time went by and the capacity of the cellars slowly ceased to be sufficient. At the same time, we thought of a new brand that we named MadCat. And then we were impressed by the building of a dilapidated distillery from 1912 in Kamenice near Jihlava. We decided to save the building and restore the craft production. Reconstruction of the distillery began in 2017 and next summer we brewed the first batch of MadCat beer in a brewery with a capacity of 2,000 liters.
Our new MadCat lager won first place at the spring prize of Czech breweries 2018! And the ride continues - MadCat is already in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Italy.

Tap at NaPalmě. Orange-golden body, thick white head. Resin and light caramel in the aroma. Lean, dry, quite empty taste, some resin, bit earthy, clean, fresh, good carbonation, I mean, nice body, but... just lacking a better developed hop profile!

5.5.2024. Can via Base Camp. Rather thin body, medium carbonation. Clean, with medium sourness, easy drinking, citrusy, pretty good. 6,9.
23.3.2026. Tap at Maly pivo (pic). Thin bod, med carbo. Med sour, light yogurty funk. Light tart and sweet. More lemon, less grass, together medium. Pretty good, simple but effective. 7,6.

Tap at the Prague Beer Fest I guess. Hazy golden body, off-white head. Peppery aroma, lemongrass in evidence. Lean, dry taste, lemongrass notes, peppery hints as well, spicy, ending bitterish. Very much likable!

Ein Mitbringsel meines Gründonnerstagsausflug nach Břeclav. Es ist ein süßliches Sauerbier.mit einen intensiven Ton nach Orange 🍊, Marille und Melone 🍉. Im Einstieg, das anfangs wirklich cool ist, aber nach einigen Schlucken wird es dann schnell aggressiv. Man kann es trinken, aber wirklich anfreunden kann ich mich damit nicht.

Can 0.5l. Hazy, gold colored. AROMA- strongly citrusy, orange juice, citrus peel. FLAVOR- neutral, moderately sour, lightly bitter, the same as aroma. Medium bodied. Decent and tasty.

Tap at Beertime. Hazy orange-golden body, thick off-white head. Sweetish malty aroma, light fruity touches, grapefruit. Fresh juicy grapefruit and lychee taste, ending with a herbal and grapefruit well-blended bitter touch. Liked it!

Tap at Brustok. Hazy golden-yellow body, lasting off-white head. Phenolic aroma, cloves dominate it, not that much coppiness. Sweetish-seeming for a brut, caramelly notes, lightly peachy, plenty of cloves in the taste. Okay, unusual, more Belgian than Brut.

Tap at Kegzistence. Clear golden body, thick ivory head. Mild floral aroma, light buttery and caramelly touches. Creamy caramelly-buttery taste, minerally, herbal. Okay, drinkable desítka that just has a microgram of diacetyl more than I can enjoy compared to its hop levels. Would get 0.5l in Jihlava.

Tap at Kulový Blesk. Aaaaalmost but not quite clear golden body, off-white head. Lychee and tea in the aroma, some citric and dusty notes, some dry grainy notes popping up later. Lychee and citrus in the somewhat juicy, creamy taste, light pear, clean maltiness, ending in a mild, vaguely bitterish finish. Okay really.
