In 2011 we opened our local microbrewery in a former music club in Jihlava. Where DJs were in charge, we now had beer tanks, fermenters, brewhouse and we started our own ride.
Already in 2012, we with the semi-dark Sigismund placed third in the spring brewer price. A year later - 2013 - we were the third best microbrewery of the year and a year later we were the best microbrewery ever in the Czech Republic. And we also won the spring prize of Czech breweries with our wheat beer.
Time went by and the capacity of the cellars slowly ceased to be sufficient. At the same time, we thought of a new brand that we named MadCat. And then we were impressed by the building of a dilapidated distillery from 1912 in Kamenice near Jihlava. We decided to save the building and restore the craft production. Reconstruction of the distillery began in 2017 and next summer we brewed the first batch of MadCat beer in a brewery with a capacity of 2,000 liters.
Our new MadCat lager won first place at the spring prize of Czech breweries 2018! And the ride continues - MadCat is already in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Italy.

On tap pours out black topped with a small tan head. Nose is nice big roast malts some chocolate pitfruit black licorice and some coffee. Taste is more of the nice sweet chocolate roast malts coffee rich pitfruit.

Tap at Beertime with BuckeyeBoy. MadCat RIS, 21°, 9%. Cola reddish body, off-white head. Sweetish bit fermented berry, some cocoa and maltiness in the aroma. Sweetish caramelly taste, nutty, cocoa, slick, ends roasty-bitterish, somewhat dusty, alcoholic. Okay. Nice body, the taste is so-so.

Tap at Zil Verne. Orange golden color with tan head. Aroma of peach, grapes, apricots. Taste is medium fruity sour with peach, light grapes, touch of wood.

getrunken quasi als Not-Schlachtung, da der Deckel der Dose im Bierschrank explodiert war und einen süßlichen Geruch nach sauren Früchten in der Wohnung verteilte. Ein Sauerbier, das mit Ananas und Kokos versetzt wurde. Die Ananas merkt man stark, aber von Kokos schmeckte ich nix. Nicht nur aufgrund der Explosionsgschichte konnte mich dieses Bier nicht überzeugen.
