Description
In 2011 we opened our local microbrewery in a former music club in Jihlava. Where DJs were in charge, we now had beer tanks, fermenters, brewhouse and we started our own ride.
Already in 2012, we with the semi-dark Sigismund placed third in the spring brewer price. A year later - 2013 - we were the third best microbrewery of the year and a year later we were the best microbrewery ever in the Czech Republic. And we also won the spring prize of Czech breweries with our wheat beer.
Time went by and the capacity of the cellars slowly ceased to be sufficient. At the same time, we thought of a new brand that we named MadCat. And then we were impressed by the building of a dilapidated distillery from 1912 in Kamenice near Jihlava. We decided to save the building and restore the craft production. Reconstruction of the distillery began in 2017 and next summer we brewed the first batch of MadCat beer in a brewery with a capacity of 2,000 liters.
Our new MadCat lager won first place at the spring prize of Czech breweries 2018! And the ride continues - MadCat is already in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Italy.

Canned 500ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him & Hrabren. Dark red coloured, small off-white head that went away fast, sriracha and lime in the nose. Sriracha, lime, some tomato, origano, peppery and light spicy finish. Interesting and pleasant.

0.5 l can thanks to Marko, shared with Ogi and him. Murky red, minimal head, that's what she said. Aroma is Siracha sauce, red peppers, tomato, chilli, herbs such as oregano and coriander. Rich, bold. Smooth, salty, also sweet cherry candy, dried tomato. Hot and spicy. Black pepper. Quite overwhelming but serious, especially for a light beer.

Tap at Brūstok 2026, with Gurthnar of course! Hazy golden-orange body, off-white head. Fresh citric hoppy aroma. Lean, dry taste, coconut and more coconut - lots of coconut! Some more tropical notes like mango, laaasting dry bitterish finish not really mixing well with the hop profile. Okay.

Tap at Brustok 2026. There is pineapple and even coconut alright, sabro definitely inside, maybe even sorachi. A very weird hops combo, and it does not pop either, a bit lacking carbo and cojones. Feels tame.

Tap at Brustok 2026. Rather strong sweet, but feels dry, sweetness is rather sugary, lacking malty fullness. Med burnt sugar and random caramel, thats about it tho. Med red berryish esters. Light vegetal and grassy feeling. Overall just feels off unfortunately.

Tap at Brustok 2026. Med-high chilli heat, remains drinkable tho. Shitloads of tomato, med sriracha. Some floaties inside too. Rather interesting than great, overfuxked kinda, but still - good.

Tap at Hell Smoke for the Mad Cat event. Clear dark brownish-red body, off-white head. Caramel and berry-driven maltiness owns the aroma, some low alcohol pops up as it warms. Caramel and berries again in the taste, which is nicely lean (it finished lower than expected apparently) but also smooth, with just a touch of bitterness in the finish and with well-hidden alcohol. Very clean taste-wise. Excellent take at the style! Love how Koneko and this are so far away from each other, but some of the best things Mad Cat ever made!

Tap at Hell Smoke for the MC event. Murky red body, no head.... oooh, this is the stuff! Huge chili-driven aroma, some tomato, low citric notes. And then... the taste... if Asian Gose was a thing, this would be it. Salty, with a clean tomato backbone, citric notes with lemongrass and lime giving it just enough of their vibes to make things more interesting, rounding the chili-driven taste out, before the good, strong but not overwhelming chili kick comes in the finish. Wow! The most daring tomato gose around I would say, though Raven, Zichovec and some others set the bar very high there. Huge props to Artem & co.!

Tap at the Mad Cat event at Hell Smoke. Hazy golden body, off-white head. Citrus-driven aroma, lightly oniony. Light citric, bit floral, mildly grainy taste, ending bitterish. Nice and simple!

Tap. Dsrk chestnut brown color with medium beige head. Mild aroma of coffee malt, roaste malt, english hops. Taste is coffeeish, sweet caramelly, light dark chocolate. Not dry Stout, I am bit disapointed, because this is not clean stout any kind and brewery can do better beers.
