50cl bottle. Pours amber/orange with a thin layer of yeast. The nose has a smokey, tangy, orange toffee. The taste has ginger, smoke and then the juniper finish which is long and green.The palate is well balanced with a medium body, a good creamy texture and then a long tangy finish. Overall, interesting beer.

Bottle at the Beer, Bocce and Boozer Tasting, London. Thanks, Paul, for this beer. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Big coffee nose, coffee ice cream, mocha. Medium sweet flavor with lots of dark and rich coffee, dark chocolate, ash, earth. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Medium sweet finish with some semi-dry, true coffee, mocha, moderate roast. A solid coffee beer. Very true coffee character.

Bottle from Royal Mile Whiskies, at London at Leighton’s Beer, Bocce and Boozer tasting. It pours very dark brown, with a thick light tan head. The nose is roasted malt, strong coffee, touch of lactose, chocolate, dark fruit (blackcurrant?) and toasted coconut. The taste is roasted malt, lots of rich-roast coffee, burnt malt, grainy, milk chocolate and toasted coconut, with a dry-roasted finish. Well hidden alcohol. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Well balanced and full of flavour. Delicious.

Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours clear, amber-gold with a fine, white foam head. Quite a bit of urine in the nose, some manure. Medium to big sweet flavor, old urine, overripe citrus, orange, some toasted then wet grass. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, lots of urine and very ripe orange, along with some other fruits and wet pine. Interesting. Not bad.

Air pressure cask at Euston Tap. copper amber colour slight haze thin cream head. Yep definite smoke aroma. Smoked and got enough malt backbone to carry it. Quite a tough smoke. But it works here. Even some fishy smokiness. Really good. In fact i liked it hugely. Good smoke

Cask at Euston Tap, London. A golden coloured pour with a small white head on top. Good hoppy, citrus fruit aroma. Served in good condition. Tastes hoppy, citrus fruit, some tropical fruit detected. This was decent.

4/IV/2012 - on cask @ Euston Tap (London) - BB: n/a (2012-325)

Clear orange beer, small creamy off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very fruity, pineapple, passion fruits and sweet mango, bit piny. MF: no carbon, full body. Taste: very fruity, pineapple, passion fruit, some grapefruit, bit piny bitterness, little cheesy. Aftertaste: more citric hops, grapefruit bitter.

Cask at Euston Tap, 4th April 2012. Pours to form aa nice head, good aroma, nice full bodied mouth feel. The Tempest beers are god, I would like to taste a Keg version of this.

Copper brown...clear...thin white head
Aroma - spicy fruits...smoky...some barbecue sausage and juniper
Taste - Odd peppery fruity, smoky barbecue (not as much as a rauschbier), sweet caramel malt, woody smoke. background of bitter hops...It’s a well made beer....I tried to like it and had 2 attempts on the same night...but I didn’t
Palate - soft carb...thin to medium body...smooth...smoky aromatic palate. Finish dry smoky aromatic very longing.
Overall - I know it’s a well made beer...Interesting and unusual...but I simply didn’t like the taste....perhaps don’t like junipers....I think this beer is meant to divide opinion

Light amber...light haze...fluffy frothy white head...good lacing
Aroma of light citrus...wheat...bit of yeast...slight sourness..fresh...some orange
Taste - Spicy hops...light grass...soft citrus fruits...some orange..bit orange zest...quite complex..slight barnyard....background of juicy fruity malts
Palate - medium carb...spicy citrus grassy palate...bit oily texture. Finish as main flavour...zesty...refreshing...clears well
Overall - Great beer from Tempest
