Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours clear honey-gold with a light, creamy white head. The nose holds bready pale malts, faint ripening fruits, soft woody notes. Light sweet flavor with toasty grains, dried berries, mild leafy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Nice balance at the finale with some husky grains, hints of dry toffee, more dried berries, bread, faint leaves. Solid bitter.

Cask handpull Old Shades Whitehall. Clear golden amber colour thin off white head. Aroma of sherbert hops. Going for the apa route I guess. Peach and lychee. Quite tasty. Hops are not bitter. A soft peachy flavour in the middle almost veering to rose. Bit thim in condition. Ok hop bit watery underneath though.

Cask handpull Old Shades Whitehall. Clear amber colour lasting thick cream head. Slightly under attenuated flavour to this. Quite sweet in the malts and a little sickly. Ol condition. Not much hop. It’s a golden session bitter. Fine if unexciting. Malts are sturdy.

Cask at the brewery. Pours clear yellow-gold with a frothy, white head. Light lemony citrus in the aroma with some floral hops and hay. Light sweet flavor with balanced bitterness, straw, light juicy lemon, faint tangerine and grapefruit. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet to finish with biscuity pale malts and further straw. Nice citrus hop character. Very solid. Great balance throughout. With better conditioning this would be great overall.
