Description
Brewery started in 1984 as Hoskins and Oldfield. During 2001 the brewery became inoperable, beers are being brewed by them at Lloyds Country Beers Ltd and Belvoir Brewery Ltd. The brewery was renamed to Hoskins Brothers in March 2002. Beer was by September 2002 being contract brewed at Tower Brewery. During the second half of 2005 brewing moved to Winchester Arms and Buckland Brewery and is currently at Monstex.

Keg at the Ale Wagon, Leicester. Dark brown with a touch of off-white head. Light aroma of molasses, creme coffee, a touch of liquorice. Bittersweet taste with burned malts. Nicely carbonated with a coffee and caramello aftertaste. I quite like this.

Keg tap at the Ale Wagon, Leicester. Very dark brown with a tight creamy head. Light liquorice and chocolate malt aroma. Bittersweet taste with some roasted coffee. Finish turns more bitter. Pretty good but a bit harsh all in all.

Cask (handpump) @ Ale Wagon, 27 Rutland Street, Leicester, Leicestershire, England LE1 1RE. [ As Hoskins Brothers Bitter HOB ].Clear medium yellow - orange amber color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, caramel, pale malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, caramel, toffee, sugary. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20160221]
