Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a huge, rocky, light brown head that leaves good lacing covering a very dark, hazy purple-brown body. Aroma of blackberry syrup, blackberry seeds, fruit jam and grapes. Taste is a bit vinous with grape, blackberry, silt and leather. Lively bubbles with a dry mouthfeel.

12 oz draft pour at Brouwer’s in Seattle. Pour is mostly clear orange ruby with a smallish off white head. Aroma of sour wine grapes, resin, interesting and big nose. Very present. Taste is sour cherry, wine, grape skin, tannin and grape juice. Big, sour, fruity, oaky - really interesting. Palate is drying, medium and more of the woodiness from the taste. I am such a fan of this brewery.

750mL cork&wire green, bottom heavy bottle poured into a long stemmed tuliped Cantillon glass. Pours a thick, dark orange color with a small head but a sticky lacing. Cannot see through the beer, not murky, just thick and dark enough to not allow it. Aroma is definitely a mixing of sour and oak, fortunately it is not buttery (I hate buttery), it’s more of a leafy, wet, old wood. The sourness is lightly solvent-like and a bit vinegar. With the combination of the wood the aromas turn very musky. It is bit nose tingling. Taste has a little leftover sweetness, I am think from one of the blended beers just being so strong that even the wild yeast has not fully eaten away at it (maybe the weird Blond Quad, never heard of that before). The oak comes through, again no butter though. Then a long tartness and dryness lingers. There is a hint of fresh tangerine sourness at the end as well. It is decent stuff, a bit too much wood coming through and overall tastes a bit old, aged malt and aged sourness comes through for me. Seems like it is missing something to protect it from oxygen. But still rather fun to drink and a lot more sour than any of their other bottled stuff.

I had a few samples at GABF and loved it there but this rating is from a recent bottle and I was much less impressed, so I am not sure what is going on. Pours a clear amber color. Aroma is strong apricot skins, which are very natural smelling. That is about it, natural, fruity, and earthy. Not much sourness coming through. Taste is natural apricot flavor but not much of anything else, especially anything I would call sour. But it is natural, lightly sweet, with no flaws. But as a side note, at GABF this was sour and acidic even.

Deep amber with medium white head. Sour taste with bitter acidic finish. Mixed feeling among five tasters. Might need to try this one again.

Bottle Pours out a mahogany/brown topped with a small head. Aroma of fruit and oak. Tast was of cherry and wine. It started to tast much better at it sat. Not bad as I took the last drink.

Draft at Raccoon Lodge. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with some oaky vanilla hints. Slightly sourish roasted malty chocolate flavor with some woody hints. Roasted malty chocolate finish with lots of woody flavors in the aftertaste.
