Couple clear bottles from their online closeout sale. Chilled & settled in the fridge for 5 months. Pint glass at home. Soft pour, pale gold, dusty clear, yeast cake at the bottom. Yeasty, sweet corn cake, pea flower, apple sauce, clay nose. Steel, sweet corn, apple core, odd fennel, harsh barrel, a little rubber, bitter veggie finish, plastic. Very different from a basic pippin. High acid, medium tart, strong carb, boozy enough. Odd, complex, not sure I like it.

Clear bottle from the Sundstrom closeout. A fw weeks in the fridge to settle. Mojito glass @home. Pale straw, clear, but slightly dusty pour; Soda head. Nose is sweet-tart apple skin, phenolic, pineapple, sulfites. Earthy, waxy, slightly floral, middle tartness, minerally, messy medicinal, skin & clove. Finish is full of waxy, plastic-y, clove phenols & probably spent too much time on the yeasties. Crispy, thin, acidic, sharp, estery, zero tartness, kind of boozy. Glad I only bought a couple bottles of this. Maybe it'll age. Weak for the brand.

Clear 750 from their closeout sale. Stemless wine glass @home. Only one that's settled so far so I'm going in. Clear, pale gold, billowy but thin head. Sharp & astringent arid apple nose. Floral & slightly creamy backdrop. Lemon, sour orange & apple core flavor upfront. Light pith, bitters, saline, minerally finish, just a little popsicle stick dryness. Gently yeasty finish. It's nearly brut dry, a couple hairs of sweetness. Tight & crispy bubbles, pretty thin, strong acid, strong sharp, medium low bitterness, low tart. Best single varietal I've had from them. Not saying a whole lot. Good though.

Bottle from their online closeout sale. Couple weeks settling down in the box then two more days in the fridge. Mojito glass @home. Pale gold pour, almost clear but still a bit dusty. Very soft, pear-like nose. White grape, a little spice too. Taste is white grape sangria upfront, with sharp apples & a long, sour orange-pinapple follow through. Lemon & creme. Nutmeg-y spice. Dabinett earth stopper near the finish. Sulfites. Play-Doh. Fizzy, soda consistency at first, high acid, slight tartness, a bit of a slurry as the second pour comes through. Needs more time to settle down. Good to good+.

Clear, dusty, pale straw stemware pour @Torst. Sour twang nose. Creamy, bright, acidy. Taste is acidic, floral, sweet n sour, lime, with a fresh juice bite on the finish. Okay, even good, just not as tight as typical sundstromm ciders I've had.

Bottle from Chamber St. Wines a bit back. Pint glass sadly @home. A dull, amber gold, slight haze. Healthy head on every re-pour. Honey, cooked apple, earth, mushroom, apple peel. Creamy/yeasty upfront, despite the age. Strong acid, full spectrum like Goldrush, but it isn't. Lemon, core, earthy apples, serious yeast. Trying, but can't get dry enough. Soft but stiff carbonation. Tast-illy boozy. Nice vintage.

Bottle from Flatiron Wines in 2018 I believe. Dark storage till two weeks ago. Fridge. Tasty pint glass @home. Clear, bright gold body, faint lace. Sharp mulch scent. Apple corn soup. Subtler then it sounds. Taste is flabby oaked apples, strong white wine, envelope glue, old hops. Subtle fresh fruit sweetness persists past all the bad stuff. Barrel is too strong. By the second day, the barrel smooths out, the apples are brighter, & the off flavors have subsided but not disappeared. Thin, boozy, film-y, creamy, intentionally still. Not his best stuff. Maybe the bottle needs to breathe. Will adjust rating if needed.

Wine glass @ Owl Farm. Hazy pale gold. Smells like a funky American Sidra with a light spray of lactose. Taste is half farmhouse, half Sidra, nearly, but not quite dry. Hard to accurately describe. A good amount of lime & extra yeasties. Crispy, thin, lingering. Good. **Notes from Dec 2019**

On tap @ Cardiff Giant. Wine glass. This orchard still makes some scrumpy if your in the area, no more NYC distribution. Still, hazed, light gold pour. Menthol, herbal, slightly mead-ish plastic scent. Creamy, yeasty, acidic spent apples & wax. Okay, if a bit lacking tannin-wise for a still.

On tap @ Cardiff Giant. Tall stemmed pour. Orange, opaque brew. Ring of resistant, lingering off-white head. Smell is creamy, yeasty apricots. Understated. Some chick in here has a ridiculously obnoxious amount of perfume on. Strong, bold, tart, bittersharp apples. Really sharp. Apple cores & cherry pith. Rose, lime, yeast, more pith. Barely tannic, but otherwise really good. Finish is tight, with lingering lime. Foamy but thin. Great.
