Bottle from Total Wine, Houston; batch 1/18
Amber colour, cloudy. Some aroma of caramel, dank hops, wet cellar. Huge malt base, almost Barley Wine, sweet, quite sticky, with potent bitter orange hopping, a bit dank.
Old school, but well made.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy dark orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, with some old cardboardy notes, and caramel bready malt. Flavour has a nice old school, west coast piney hop character, with plenty of chewy caramel, and some bready malt. Nice pine tree character, with a robust caramel malt backbone. Surprisingly good.

This does not look good - dull light brown. Just a touch of head. There's pine and a bit of cardboard on the nose, along with yeastiness and some kind of toffeeish malts, and yeah, that oxidation thing. It's rich, bitter, and a hint of yeast. Very old school. Not bad in that respect, but unfortunately it's a bit old, and the cardboard shows through.

650ml bottle at Erik's. Pours a hazy copper with a white head. Aroma is caramely with candied citrusy hops. SImilar taste. Despite it's quite old, it's a good old-school IPA.
