I had Frio quite a while back, remember not being impressed. But today is a new day and I have a 24 oz can to sample. No particular reason to drinking a malt liquor on a cold winter day, just the way it goes sometimes. The pour into my glass reveals a clear, shiny yellow body topped by a skim of fully white foam. It smells like your basic beer but with a metallic effect to it. The taste is corn, grain, cardboard and maybe some kind of yellow fruit, I'm reaching on that last point. Actually better than I recall. Still far from being on a level with Eight Ball imo.

Can thanks to Justin. Pours a clear gold with small white head. The aroma is grain malt and straw. Medium body, corn malt, dry, metallic finish, not much going on with this one.

24 oz. can bought at HEB Supermarket in Boerne, TX for $1.27. Pours a clear medium gold color with a frothy white head and good retention. Light grain / malt liquor aroma. The taste follows the nose. Light grainy lager flavor. Medium body. Semi-flat mouthfeel. Not much flavor overall, but inoffensive. Pretty smooth for a 6.0 ABV.

24 oz. can bought at HEB Supermarket in Boerne, TX for $1.27. Pours a clear gold color with a white head and decent retention. Minimal lacing. Grainy aroma. Weak grainy lager flavor. Very light body, as expected. Not offensive, just a decent cheap lager. Enjoyed it for what it is.
