Tap at Bakuon 2025. SMaSH pilsner with Kent Goldings hops and pilsner malt. Clean malt, interesting British hop nose. Clean, crisp, hops are interesting, not sure how perfect they work, but not bad at all.

Tried this at Bakuon but I think I crushed it while chatting with KL so never took a photo or notes about it. Nice crisp simple lager that hit the spot.

Can from the brewery, about 4 weeks ago. Pale gold, clear, with a full, thick head. Nice hoppy nose, white grapes, citrus, bready malt, light on the yeast. fruity flavor, citrus, tropical, grapes, the saison yeastiness is there, but not big. Not sweet, not too spicy, in the clean Dupont mold. Nicely done saison. Dry, medium bitter finish. Nice.

500 ml can, purchased at the brewery about 4 weeks ago. Pours a very dark brown, not quite black, with a thick head coming up from the bottom. Nose is lots of citrus hops, orange, grapefruit, lemon, with chocolate malt, some dark bread, caramel, and just a touch of coffee. flavor is slightly woody and earthy, with citrus and pine resins, dark chocolate, light roast. Texture is light but smooth and full. Carbonation on the soft side.

500 ml can from the brewery. Bright citrusy hop nose, lemon and orange, some white grape, pear. Light, biscuity malt. Pale to medium gold, clear, with a low head going quickly to lace. The malt is pilsner, but I forgot what the hop is... Bready malt flavor, fruity, citrus, clean, light sweetness then dry. Low bitterness but the dryness makes it finish clean. Another nice one.

500 ml can from the brewery. Bright gold, crystal clear, with a pretty tall, frothy head. Bright, fruity aroma, orange and grapefruit, papaya, light apricot, bit of dankness. Quite complex hops. Malt is simple and clean. Bright, crisp flavor. Slightly sweet biscuit malt, lemon, orange, some tropical, white grapes. Nice flavor. Not very sweet. Finish is lightly bitter, dry, slightly peppery. Pretty much what I want in a PA.

Tap at the brewpub. Clear, bright golden color with a medium head. Floral hop nose, citrus, clean, bready malt. Crisp malt flavor with citrus, light tropical fruit, peach, minerals. Dry, moderate to strong bitter finish. The hops really shine. Refreshing and clean. This is basically a ramped-up version of their year-round APA, and is just as drinkable even though it packs more of a punch, and is richer and more aromatic.

At Ibaraki Bakuon so I’ve Gotta have a beer from the local brewery! Three Trees Aki no Oto Red Ale 5% Reddish brown with a fast-dissipating head of foam and a malty caramel and peppery aroma. Light bodied to watery with a dry scratchy carbonation. The taste is biscuits and sweet malts with peppery notes. Kind of a let down to be honest.
