Description
Brouwerij Frontaal is ontstaan in 2015 na een jarenlange zoektocht naar de verschillende smaken & aroma's in al bestaande bieren. We hebben ons vervolgens het vak van brouwen zelf aangeleerd, veel ervaringen opgedaan bij bestaande brouwerijen en zich verdiept in de vele literatuur.

Wij zijn een brouwerij die staat voor innovatie, balans, creativiteit maar ook zeker voor transparantie (op de helderheid van sommige bieren na). Dit komt allemaal terug in de smaak van het bier, de etiketten maar ook zeker door de manier van handelen door de brouwerij.

We brouwen ons bier volgens de slogan "Beer for Thought". Hiermee doelen we op het creëren van smaken, kleuren en geuren in het bier, wat de drinker aanzet tot denken waar dit door ontstaan is. Naast dat er op zoek gegaan wordt naar de uitwerking van de ingrediënten zou men ook kunnen denken bij welk gerecht het bier lekker bij is of bij welk moment het goed past.

Tap @ Craft & Draft, sample size. Hazy orange/amber color. Big almost white head with good lacing. Aroma’s: Nice citrussy and resinous, light sour. Retronasal it’s citrus, sour, light sweet, light resin. Flavor is rather mild, light bitter, light fruit. Medium bodied. Lots of hoppiness in the finish, but only moderate bitter. Nice.

Draft at Arendsnest. Very hazy golden with a big thick white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, orange peel, peach, caramel and soft mineral notes. Flavour is above light sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Sampled from tap at Leiden Winterbier Festival. Hazy golden with white head. Sweet malts, fudge, peach, tropical fruit, chalk. Light sweet and light bitter. Under medium body, soft carbonation. Nice light feel. Very fruity and tastebud friendly. Nice.

Bottle @ home shared with dad. Hazy orange red-brown color, virtually no head. Smell and taste wheat, lightly sourish, tart, unripe fruit. Average body, medium carbonation. Nah don’t like it.

Tap at Winterbierfestival Leiden. Hazy orange golden with small off white head. Lots of tropical fruits, raw grains, caramel, light dusty, orange, grapefruit, light milky. Soft roasted malts. Light sweet and almost medium bitter. Under medium bodied with dry watery feel. Nice aroma, but strangely light and dry.

From bottle @ PRZH Winterbeerfest 2017. Black color. Beige head with OK retention. Aroma’s: coffee, roast, umami/slightly salty. Retronasal it’s roasted, tar, red fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet, some coffee-ish sourness, roast. Medium bodied. Finishes roasted.
