Hand bottled, thank martjoobolut! Hazy pale amber, no head. Interesting aroma of rhubarb and malt vinegar. Tart with medium body and rounded mouthfeel, low to no carbonation. Red berries and rhubarb over bready malt. Some honey and slight vinegar. Low bitterness. Interesting and complex.

Tap at Porgu. Cloudy orange-gold with a high, fine head. Lots of banana in the nose, nectarines, honey. Very estery and possibly rye spice and juniper notes. Sweet and viscous, very fruity and estery with banana, clove, juniper. Very spicy and phenolic. Creamy, and full body. The finish is a bit rough, seemingly from the bread yeast. Comes across as a pale weizenbock more than anything. Good and highly drinkable, but heavy and the finish is a bit yeasty and nasty. --- Beer merged from original tick of Õlu on 31 Jul 2011 at 12:21 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Growler at Chriso’s. Cloudy light yellow color with lace. Fruity, estery aroma with citrus. Estery flavor, tangy, with banana, peach, somewhat weizen-like. Good, and very interesting. A pleasure to try.

On tap at Õllesummer, Tallinn. Muddy orange with a white head. Fruity and slighly spicy, bana and cloves as expected. Mild flavours with pleasant acidity. Well integrated alcohol and certainly refreshing.

Draft glass @ Põrgu. Hazy orange, bready, soapy white head. Nose is raw & sweet unfermented raw bread, wheat, mineral, fizzy, dirty rustic. Tastes like a high boost unfermented Hefeweizen mixed with glue, pencil, band-aid, bread, rubber, plastic, mineral, very thick low carbonation boozy unfermented thick body. That pencil & glue finish nearly killed me. I know that the Ölut version is considered to be better but this nearly killed me, too challenging, I need to learn to drink this I think. I really struggled, still really happy to have tried Koduõlu.

BIG THANKS to Marduk. Koduõlu was one of my biggest beer wants. PET bottle, filled at brewery shared at Koht – Tallinn. Hazy orange with no head. Nose is sweet candy, sugar, wheat, banana, flat Hefeweizen with low funk of sorts. Taste is like thick unfermented banana Hefeweizen with pencil shavings, glue, chalk, orange peel, sweet candy,…. Thick unfermented malt syrup & glue. Others talked about it being too thin but I struggled a bit with this one but then I tried the regular stronger version oh boy. Bit too challenging for me, heavy. Very happy to have tried this one.
