Six generations of farming have given us a unique insight into British food production. The highest standards of animal welfare and environmental care show in our milk and meat products. We demand those same high standards from everyone whose produce we stock.
In more recent years, Mr Pile set up the cider business, collecting cider from small farms all over the west country to sell at Middle Farm.

Cask@GBBF2011. Deep hazy amber colour, no head. Aroma is rum, fruits, apples, some alcohol and mild wooden notes. Flavour is rum, apples, alcohol, wood, yeast, some mild riped fruits as well. Really pleasant. I could have just stopped rating right there, and bought this on and on for the rest of the day.

Bottle, 1pt, plastic milk-bottle style. An unclear, golden cider with some bubbles on top. The aroma is intensly apple-ish, orchard, cores and sourness. Slightly vinegar-ish. It’s dry and medium bodied. Apple flavor, some barnyard and orchard, lasting finish. A puckering and tasteful one, really nice. 100814

Bottle, 1pt, plastic milk-bottle style. Vintage 2008. A clear, golden cider with some off-white bubbles, but still. The aroma is quite vinegar-ish, but with enough apples to deal with it. Alcohol too. The flavor is quite vinegarish too, with a nice apple flavor. Really puckering, and with a good dash of acetone. Lasting finish with alcohol, apples and vinegar. A nice one, really intense, and damn flavorful. 100814

Bottle, 1 pint, a milk-bottle-like one, definitely not looking nice. The looks of the cider is much better, golden in color and without any head or carbonation. Very vinegary nose with lots of apples and an orchard touch. It’s too dry in the mouth, medium bodied, with lots of vinegar and apples. Really puckering for a medium dry cider. Really nice aroma, the flavor isn’t in the same league. 100814
