650ml bottle. Jet black colour with small to average, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty and piney, hoppy aroma, notes of coffee, dark chocolate, some liquorice, a touch of vanilla. Taste is roasty and chocolately dark malty, piney hoppy, notes of coffee, dark chocolate, hints of liquorice, a weak touch of vanilla. Oily texture, smooth and soft, creamy palate, fine, soft carbonation. Not overly complex, but well balanced, harmonious, integrated. Nice.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours copper tinged gold with a somewhat creamy white head. Mixed aromas of floral and arm pit (haven't used that term for quite awhile). Med body or better. Flavor of roasty malt with a strong - tho not exactly dank - bitterness. Floral and citrus/pine and earthiness. Dry! Hoppy. Did I mention bitter? It is. Great stuff - old school updated and exceeded. Great ale.

Bomber from the brewery courtesy my daughter and son-in-law since I’m sheltered in place by Corona (was that virus or beer?) Nose is chocolate, cherries, bourbon, vanilla, and a biscuity note. Black with a small cinnamon tan head. Pretty good but I like their 50 better.

Sample at GABF 10/05/2019, thanks to kathryneels for assistance with note-taking. Clear reddish-amber color with a medium frothy off-white head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Small patches of lace. Malt, fruit and hops in the nose. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, earthy hops and fruit. The finish is malty up front with a piney hop aftertaste. Above average overall.
