Bottle @ Home. Pours hazy dark amber with a fading tan head. Aroma of malt, little caramel, herbs, spicy, heavy ginger. Flavor is sweet, spicy, malty, sugar, herbal, loads of ginger. Thin body, soft to average carbonation, sweet and spicy finish. 240118

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Tanheiser Kraftbeer Honey ].Clear medium orange amber colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, honey, oxidide, old honey, sugary honey, cardboard. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet with a average to long duration, sugary, honey, sugary honey, oxidide, bread, fruity honey. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. On tap at Ilgezeem stall Centratirgus, Riga Has a small white head when first poured, but this soon disappears. Colour mid-amber and is slightly cloudy. Nose isn’t very pronounced, but I got aniseed and maize. Taste predominantly citrus, but with hints of almond and banana as well, with a soft carbonation. Finish reminded me of nothing so much as traditional barley-sugar sweets ! This is a good example of traditional Latvian “lauku alus” (country beer), but without the overwhelming di-acetyl presence that some have. Note that Ilgeciema is spelt differently than on some of their other beers.

Bottle from Eurodeli, Tilst. 5.5 % ABV. Hazy deep red with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, cherries and a bit sugary. Flavor is quite sweet and light acidic. Sweet and light acidic finish. The cherries provide just enough acid to balance the sweetness. Much better than expected. 191117
