Cask at the Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks 08-10-08 Pours mid amber with a slight haze and a white head, it looks decent enough. Some soapy hops in the mouth, very soft feeling, restrained but ever present bitterness and yes I suppose there is a simple bread like quality to this beer, its ok. A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov12 3.0 Had this once again on Cask at the Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks 06-07-09 Pours dark amber with a thin white head. There is plenty of flavour for the abv. Bitter and fruity and once again I get the bread like quality to this beer, its good stuff marked up on re-rate. A6 A3 F7 P4 Ov14 3.4

Cask, Bar Fringe, Manchester. Clear, golden colour with a dissipating, yet lingering white head. Aroma and flavour had some sweet malt and was gently bitter. Damned ok.

Cask, Lion Tavern, Liverpool. Looks like piss, with a fastly vanishing head. Floral, citrus aroma and flavour. Clean tasing but a bit watery. Dry finish. Not sold on this.

Cask-conditioned at The Royal Oak, Bath 14/9/08. Pale golden in colour with a slight white head. Citrus Hop aroma with a touch of sweet malts. Flavour had plenty of hops, with a touch of flinty minerals, some fruit and a decent dry finish. Ok.

Hand-pulled cask, served at the right drinking temperature at The North East England Bar, GBBF 08. Black-rusty, naked body. Sweet aroma of caramel malt. Coffee flavoured supported by sweet liquorice. Rich in taste, but easy to drink (half pint, shared with Geir, 09.08.2008).

Cask, somewhere in Derby 17-08-08 I’m not quite sure where I had this and I even got the name wrong in my sketchy notes I called it Langley. Anyway if this indeed the correct beer it poured mid golden with a nice white head and with good citrussy aromas and flavours, it was a little light and a touch thin but otherwise another very good Abbeydale beer.

This is an easy drinking session beer some boiled sweets along with some citrus, very nice beer.
