(Keg at Beer House No 1, 20170105) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had butter, grass and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were butter, grass, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had butter, hops and bitterness. A brew with too much butter both in the aroma and the taste.

On tap. Reddish color, Aroma: malt, caramel and a little swamp, dirty. Taste: sweet, caramel, cake, slightly caramelized sugar, a little plum, malt.

TAP at Beer House 1 in Riga. Sweet burnt sugar lollipop with a farmhouse young still fermenting note. The taste is sweet caramelized sugars balanced by kind-of like juniper spice, fermenting beverage tartness and phenolic spice. Very rustic. Not bad.

30cl on tap at Alus Krodzins, Jurmala. Slightly hazy golden with a small, white head. Mild grainy aroma with hints of fruits and possibly hops. Sweet and grainy with hints of sour notes and a light bitterness. Slightly unpleasant, doesn’t feel quite fresh. Not sure about this one.

On tap at Valmiermui?a alus tirgotava, Riga. Hazy copper with an off- white head. Medium sweet with grainy and light fruits. Pleasant, but quite boring.

Fra kran på S.Brevinga, Riga 9 Okt 13. Mørkebrun. Uklar. Middels skum som varer. Mye lacing. Aroma av karamell. Smaken er frukt & blomster. Etter hvert dukker det opp et visst honningpreg og litt urter. Komplekst øl. Et av de bedre latviske.

330ml tap@Valmiermuiza alus tirgotava. Mahogany coloured body, spotty kayer on surface. Honey and sweet malt aroma, milk chocolate, caramel and hazelnut. Smooth and oily, nuts, toffee andplum. Rather sweet and softly carbonated. Thanks for sharing, Stefan!

Small beige head. Hazy deep yellow brownish red body. Earthy oily nutty aroma with mealy dried fruit notes. Sweet earthy nutty caramel pudding taste with spicy musty notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, slightly flat mouthfeel. Dryish roasty caramelly earthy aftertaste with chocolate and dust notes. Long, lingering earthy nutty finish. Nice, smooth, and easy-drinking, but a bit slack. (0.33l PET bottle from tap at Alus Stacija, Riga, under the name "Brenguļu Tumšais". Rated again with exact same score, as "Abula Tumšais", at Gauja.)

Medium offwhite head. Slightly hazy deep yellow body with light carbonation. Strawy dusty fruity aroma with grainy herbal earthy notes. Dry-sweet earthy dusty herbal taste with spicy resiny notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish minty strawy herbal aftertaste with grassy oily fruity notes. Lovely and incredibly vivid. Intensely drinkable. Fairly bitter finish. (0.5l PET bottle, from tap at Alus Stacija, Riga. Sold as "Brengulu Gaisais." Rated again draft at Gauja under the name "Abula Gaišais" with markedly lower scores. Seemed like a different beer, even.)
