Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse. Atlas. Hmmm. Had this in a dark, sketchy cantina in Casco Viejo I wondered in for the hell of it. The only good thing about it is it’s superior to Panama lager. Not quite at the lofty heights of Balboa though - not quite within the realm of drinkable. It’s gotta be ice cold just to chug back a few gulps.

I gotta say this went down well after a long bullshit day full of airplane transfers. First beer in Panama on this trip, and it’s only going to get better from here - there’s Atlas, Panama and that other beer. The world is mine for the taking. Went down particularly well with the dank basement smell of the bar I had it in. Vamos!

Can 330ml in Panama
Pale yellow color, good white head. Aroma of metal and green apples. Light bodied. Slightly acidic, flaovr of barley malt and corn, some fruityness. Faint hops. Typical tropical lager. When fresh from tap, it is probably the best of 4 main brands in Panama as it is slightly maltier than the rest.

From my dear roommate: Pours straw color with a small white head. Aroma is of corn and not very much else. Taste is slightly sweet with some bread. I drank this as a chaser for taking vodka shots and this worked out pretty well for that, but as everyone is probably aware, this beer is not really made for sipping. I didn’t find it offensive though.
