Description
Odyssey is a small family run brewery established in the rural surrounds of a National Trust estate in Herefordshire in 2014. We brew in a building that is at least 400 years old but our beers are modern and forward looking.

Because we are small, independent and committed to staying that way, we focus primarily on only two styles of beer - hop forward (of any colour) and big, indulgent stouts, with the occasional Barley Wine thrown in for good measure. Our hoppy beers are unfined and hazy but we seek to retain some bitterness and drinkability - East Coast brews with a West Coast vibe.

All of our beer is produced for keg or can.

Can from Hoptimism. Hazy pale golden colour with a white head. Aroma and taste are citrus grassy and slight metallic. Bittersweet to light bitter. Smooth body.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of pine and pineapple. Flavour of pine and Lockets. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Tasty and bitter.

Tap at the farmers boy St Albans. A hazed deep orange coloured pour with a lasting beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, juicy orange and mango, little green liquorice,. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, creamy wheat grains, juicy orange, spicy citrus, grass, earthy citrus. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, moderate carbonation. Good.

Keg at Heidrun, HW, 27/08/21. Hazed orange with an off white cap. Nose is orange zest, grass, melon, mixed tropical fruit esters. Taste comprises grapefruit, melon, papaya, tangerine, light pine needle. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close doused with juicy hop bitterness. Decent.

Keg, half-pint in Tap & Can Shrewsbury on 11th August 2021. Cloudy/milky orange body, soft white topping. Tropical fruits abound in the nose and flavours with sweet pineapple leading the way but not dominating the other citrussy things having an input.

On tap at CBC, Clerkenwell on 23rd July 2021. Hazy amber with shallow off-white foam and scant lacing. Pungent fruity aroma. Tart citrus and tropical fruits in-mouth with grapefruit peel . Tangy fruits in finish. Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Keg at The White Horse 'Back to Normalish weekend', Hedgerley, Bucks. An almost black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Rich, roasty, coffee, malty, chocolate aroma and taste. Decent slightly sweet, imperial stout from Odyssey.
