Can from Oliver's Beverage, Albany. Opaque dark brown with good-sized head, excellent retention and nice soapy lacing. Aroma is strong roasted, earthy coffee. Taste follows aroma. Smooth texture, medium bodied, soft carbonation and finish as taste with lingering roasted bitterness. Solid!

Just about brilliant deep amber color with a decent sized white head that shows moderate retention. Bready toasty with bits of earthy spicy hops. A bit too much diacetyl leaves a slickness and some bitter butter notes.

Draught at Spotty Dog: pours brown with beige head. Aroma is nutty and caramel. Taste is lightly sweet, malty, low bitterness. Not bad.

Sampled from the tap at Craft & Carry. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has light tart lemon with earthy wheat and a bit of hay backing. Flavor has slightly earthy tart lemons with a bit of hay and earthy grain backing.

Been 13 months since last brown ale, used to be so common. Handsome chestnut brown pour and foamy head. Nose is malty and roasted nuts. Tastes of charred chestnuts, rootbeer, malt, cocoa powder. Smoothbpalate.
