Canned 4/17/23, drunk 5/20/23. Quite hazy, muted bronze. Small white head to ring. Lovely riwaka showing white wine and sulfur with some lime sherbet and cracker malts behind. Clean, no resin or alcohol. Good maltiness with rustic cracker and other grain. Dey ng out heavily with lime, pineapple and white wine. Love the dryness and lack of any resin. Appropriate bitterness.

Can (1/31/23) pour from Steve. It's a cloudy orange-light brown with tons of sparkle, finger-width foamy off-white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is strong white grape, stone fruit and hint of dank herb. Taste follows aroma with minerals and bread. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste with lingering yeast and mild bitter. Overall, I get the comments about being sweet as there is a candied sweetness but I don't find it over the top. Surprisingly thin for the style--doesn't drink like 8.3%.

Can (1/24/23) pour from Steve. It's a deeply hazy dark yellow with nice sparkle, finger-width white foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma is advertised peach and nectarine (on the orange creamsicle side) with light lime and tropical fruit. Taste is super strong nectarine and pineapple over peach with cream. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, wow, super juicy and welcome to the scene Peacharine! I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of this in the future! A bit thin but makes it go down real easy.

Can (12/13/22) pour from Steve. It's a cloudy light brown-dark yellow with nice sparkle, tons of large floaties, finger-width white head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma is strong fruit (stone?) and malt backbone. Taste is strong berry, melon, stone fruit, lighter citrus and hint of herb. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with gorgeously soft texture, average carbonation and crisp finish as taste. Overall, taste is more interesting than aroma. Mouthfeel is amazing but floaties are nasty.

Canned 2/28/23, drunk 5/7/23. Dark, inky, but seemingly clear body with good viscosity. Medium-sized, darker tan head showing moderate retention. Nose is a wonderful mix of base malt and dark malt with an excellent dark fruit character and loads of tobacco, cherry, vanilla and rich, sumptuous toffee. Doesn't seem too sweet and it's not boozey at all. In the mouth it's rich, thick, viscous. But yet it's really well-attenuated and the base malts balance all of the dark character from the dark malts. Where their brewing style (rich, big-bodied beers) didn't seem to favor the two Zeal's I had, it certainly favors this style of beer and this is right up there with the rich, thick, uber-viscous BA Imperial Stouts I enjoy. The flavors are complex and elegant as well. Really impressed here.

Tap at Malted Barley. Hazily light yellow and fine head. Nose is tropical fruits and sweet grass. Tastes of lemon grass, kiwi, honey dew, lime zest and oats. Smooth.

12 Perc draught, 4/30/23. Thick, concrete/oj. White head is thick, small. Tea, lemon, huge orange-mango. Surprised to see more citrus than wine or tropical notes. White bread and cracker malt easily support. Clean, no alcohol. Big malt texture, again as with the regular, nelson version, it's pushing it on the sweetness and extremely low bitterness combo. Orange, lime, guava. Yeah, just too thick, sluggish, borderline too sweet.

Canned 3/16/23, drunk 4/27/23. Moderately hazy. Small, white head, moderately-low retention. Certainly smells like Nelson. Big and mineralesque, with earth, white wine and such. Soft, juicy, fruity, wine-like and funky. Pretty up there for Nelson harvest this year. Certainly low on resin and sharp/hot pine. Sparse, cracker malts with white bread and such. In the mouth the Nelson continues. White wine, heavy funk, heavy mineral. Man, does PhillyBeer even taste more than a 1/10th of a sip? This is absolutely funky as hell Nelson. That said, he is surprisingly correct that it's too sweet. A shame, since this Nelson is killer. But yeah, just mega-sugar pretty much from the get-go and lingering throughout.

Pours murky mango into a tulip. Bright white conglomerate head with medium retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Pineapple, lychee and mango aromas. Soft with mango, melon and papaya upfront turning sharp before the lasting earthy tropical fruit skin finish.
