Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7
On tap at Ash Tree, pours a hazy pinkish amber with a small white head. Aroma reveals faint strawberry and soft wild yeast notes. Flavour is gently tart, with very faded strawberry, wild yeast, and rustic notes. I wish the strawberries came through more but it's still a competently done saison. Good stuff.
mcberko (47456) reviewed Wild Apple Tarte from Ash Tree Brewery 2 years ago
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7
On tap at Ash Tree, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma reveals tart apple core, wild yeast and subtle, peppery rustic saison yeast. Flavour is fairly gentle and subtle, with wild yeast, and gentle apple core and skins. Not all that expressive, but pleasant enough and has nice command of the yeast.
mcberko (47456) reviewed Ash Tree Reserve from Ash Tree Brewery 2 years ago
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5
On tap at Ash Tree, pours a hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out lots of aged bugs, apple skins, and gentle oak. Flavour is nicely wild, with gentle tartness, some green apple, and saison yeast. Delicately balanced and aged. I slightly prefer the Bire de Provision but this is very nice too.
