Bottle from GBBF 2014 and drunk at home. Hazy pale gold lasting thick white head. Decent saison touch of soap but it’s fairly light and solid. Light saison yeast aroma, some lemon some hop. I rather like it. Enormously drinkable and good depth of flavour. Simple but done very well. Good peppery hop. Straight up very good saison. Not over the top, but as I said very solid. Yes not too exciting but absolutely fine and down the line saison.

Bottle from GBBF 2014 and drunk at home. Hazy gold amber light brown lasting thin off white head. Rather a decent amber/pale ale I thought. Like a lot of Italian beers, it’s just so defined in the flavours. I mean every other amber I’ve had in the past couple of weeks has been what it says on the tin. This is just more defined and flavourfull. Very decent. Some hop on the finish. Malty hoppy, drinkable. Some lemon and orange fruit flavours.

Sampled from bottle @ ChrisO after GBBF day 3. Slightly hazy yellow color, medium to full sized a bit soapy white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, lightly herbs, decently bitter, slightly fruity. Decent body and carbonation.

Special strong Sardinian stout in which beer meets the mediterranean wine culture. Creamy, light beige foam, colour as good as black. Complex aroma of coffee, walnuts, chocolate, bayleaf, port wine, cassis, leather; taste bears loads of dark, candied fruits, complex spicy notes, full-bodied red wine and tannins, port wine, slightly smoky touch, near the end an increasingly strong, black coffee-like toasted bitterness, long and very dry with some warming alcohol. The idea of mixing beer and wine of high quality may seem odd, but in this case it works wonderfully.

Sampled from a 0.75l bottle @ RBNG 2014. Quite a cloudy thing this. Dark amber almost a little brown in the glass and it has a small islandy beige sidesticking top. Sweet concentrated fruits on the nose. Some yeast, red berries, lots of date sweetness. Almost a little sticky. Not to amazing honestly. It has some quite grainy flavors. Not as strong or sticky as I had hoped for or was expecting in the taste. Almost a bit watery perhaps? Prickling on the bubbles. A faint sourness also detected here. Not a worthy finisher IMO. 15.02.2014
