Description
Rascals Brewing was founded in 2014 by Emma Devlin and Cathal O’Donoghue.
The pair were living and working in New Zealand and developed a taste and passion for the booming Kiwi craft beer industry. In the spirit of adventure, they decided to change careers entirely and set up their own craft brewery back home in Dublin. Sure, why not?

Draught at Beerhouse. Lemon gold with a medium head. Aroma of lemon hop. Flavour is light bitter, fruit and hop, dry bitter base, lingering fruity finish. Another solid one!

330ml can. Murky amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty aroma, weak citrusy hoppy notes of orange, mandarine, a touch of grapes. Taste is slightly bitter hoppy, a dry touch of grapes and green apple parings, bitter zesty overtones of mandarine and orange, light caramel malty basis. Unconvincing.

Can sample at a Gose tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Black with a beige head. Aroma of roast, lots of ginger, coffee, and some chocolate. Bittersweet flavor, a bit sourish, roasty, with some ginger, coffee, some chocolate, and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied, over-carbonated. Too much ginger for my liking.

250 ml. draft @ Chez Moeder Lambiek Fontenais. Dark amber with a big & solid creamy tanned head. Nose is big pine resin hop goop with a thick raw herbal edge to it, thick caramel quality, adding some sweetness. Taste is initially herbal pine, strong & pleasant, very thick caramel, toffee, thick goop, finish is bitter resin & a strong burned cough syrup & burned dark bread which starts to dominate a bit too much towards the end & the more you drink of it which is a shame & takes the whole a bit down. Still better than the 3 other beers that I tried from these guys. Thick herbal & bread body.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic Original, Irish Craft Beer #1, courtesy of Pierre T and shared with 77ships.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic Original, Irish Craft Beer #1, courtesy of Pierre T and shared with 77ships.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic Original, Irish Craft Beer #1, shared with 77ships.

THANKS! Sampled draft @ Moeder Lambiek Original. Clear golden, little white head. Nose is massive cat piss hops, tad milky, whole is a bit more sweet lemon like than anything raw. Taste is mellow, rather bland, corn & cat piss hops, those are mellow, tad sugar, oily, basic bland, bit too sweet. Meh.
