16oz can. Light haze over a straw gold body with some lacey white head. Bang on nose. Grain and dough. Continental hops that read green and peppery. Flavor is also well balanced. Spicy green hop, herbal, sweet corn and malt. Just barely off dry. Light tannins.

Nonic pint at the brewery. Light hazy over a greenish gold body. Lacing white head. Nose has stone fruits and lime, lightly catty, some grass, light grist. Flavor amps the grass and cattiness. Green. Dry, bitter with a nice bite. A little jasmine. Good beer and really grew on me.

Dimpled mug at the brewery pours a clear starbright gold with a ring of head that faded fast. Nose is a bit sweeter than I want or expect with a west coast. Smells like Lost Gen. Corn and malt and honey. Hop is there but its juicy and tropical and screams Southern Hemisphere. Flavors follow. This isn't bad beer, I just like a drier West Coast more. More bitterness is needed too. Maybe I'm grumpy.

50cl bottle that is roughly 12 months old. Inky black, very light legs. Khaki head faded fast. Nose has a lot, malt and licorice, clear raspberry, some barrel, cocoa. Flavor is a bit thin, could be the base or just the age, cola, cocoa, more cherry than raspberry now but who's counting, barrel and a lick of booze. Full bodied, spicy.

50cl bottle pours a nearly opaque black with a ring of tan head. Nose has malt and cocoa and black pepper. Solid and not overdone. Vanilla is there with something like bay leaf. Flavor is a bit simpler. Good news is, the barrel arrives with some char and caramel. Barrel likely compliments the vanilla too. Well balanced. Sweet, but not overly. Medium full. 8 8.5 8.5 8 8

Draft pour at Rocklands Barbeque in Ballston. Poured a beautiful nutty brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma was really nice toasted malts, bread, some light cola. Flavor was earthy hops, light bitterness, brown roasted malt. Really solid dark lager.
