Cask at Chelmsfaasarhd Beer Fest. Almost clear deep brown beer, good bubbly pale tan head. Soft smooth palate, decent fine carbonation. Overall, pretty light for the abv. Smooth rich chocolate malts, a nice chocolate biscuit vibe. There is a decent balance of dark and mild chocolate here, slightly more mild chocolate. Some ripe fruits on the fairly light and semi dry finish. If you told me this had spent a short spell in a whiskey or bourbon barrel, I would believe you. A pretty tidy Impy, simple-ish but very drinkable.

24-27/10/2023. From the Curiosity Bar at the 45th Norwich Beer Festival. Pours black with a small bubbly/frothy tan coloured head. Aroma is rich, coffee, caramel, liquorice, molasses, dark malt, dark chocolate, touch of tobacco. Moderate sweetness, medium to heavy roasted bitterness. Quite full bodied, oily and sticky, average to soft carbonation. Drying bitter finish. Burnt plastic edge developed. Quite enjoyable.
