Taster at the Lincoln Fill Station. Pours a clear, orange color, with a small, off-white head. The nose is pine sap, orange oils, cardamom, and juniper. Sweet and syrupy, with a bold, sticky bitterness. Heavy body, thick, and sticky. Rough and aggressive, but fun.

Same issue here as with the dubbel and tripel; cocoa, dried fruit, and a strong bitterness, not a whole lot of subtlety or complexity for the style, but still pretty drinkable. Not bad.

Bold Monk's Tripel falls right in line with their take on the Belgian Dubbel, Americanized to the point excess, forgoing any stylistic subtlety for the sake of big, punchy flavors. Which isn't altogether a bad thing; the clove and grassy middle are nice, as are the traces of lemon drops and apple. The bitterness on the back end mixes with the strong sweetness to grow cloy as the pint warms though. Okay.

Very much an Americanized take on the style, not as sweet as its Belgian brethren and with a firm bitterness that seems slightly out of place. Tasty notes of cocoa, dried fruit, tobacco, and candi sugar, but the bitter streak in the finish comes on too strong. Not bad; probably better on tap.

Florals and clove. Golden pour with ok head. Boozy kind of finish. Somehow lacks subtly and flavour at the same time. Light lime finish that cloys a little. Can. 666614 3.3

Leather, fig and orange peel. Some florals. The elements are decent, and balance is OK. Hopefully with some tinkering this recipe could be improved, mostly on the smooth factor. Clear brown pour with decent initial mocha head. Tangy and sweet finish. Can.

On tap at Brick Store. Pours golden with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is passionfruit and lemon zest. Slick body, passionfruit, lemon, wheat, dough, nice tartness, very good.

Short pour at the Brick Store. Pours a clear, bright red color, with a small, pinkish head. The nose is raspberry, heavy floral, cane sugar, and Cynar. Sweet and sugary, with a light tartness. Light, syrupy, and slick. Quality and a bit thin.

Thanks Rian Smooth mild fruity beginning. Easy to drink, slightly grainy with hints of caramel. Red fruits, hints of grain, caramel with a great dry malty finish. Great!
