Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Dark brown, creamy head. Aroma of toast and dark sugar. Mid sweet with light to medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Dark sugar, rye bread. Low bitterness. Never lifts.

Bottle from Swedish market. Piwo jak brytyjskie ESB, niemal dokladnie takie same odczucia jest tradycyjne chmielenie, goryczka zostaje na podniebieniu. Zlociste z srednia piana. Malo slodowe, a za to dobrze wytrawne. Lubie taka goryczke

thanks omhper! Copper colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is toffee, some floral, mild biscuity and nutty malts to it. Flavour is nutty, biscuity, some toffeeish and a bit grassy tones to it.

330mL bottle, pours a clear bright copper orange with a small white head. Aroma has a sort of smoked, sulphuric character, with bready malt and a hint of alcohol. Flavour is better, with plenty of bourbon, smokiness, and toasted caramel. Pretty light-bodied, and the smokiness is rather odd. Okay.

250mL bottle, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small tan head. Aroma has some oxidation, whiskey barrel, and gentle toasted malts. Flavour is light, with whiskey barrels, toasted malt, and some oxidation. A bit too oxidized but it’s pleasant.

250mL bottle at Bishops Arms Gamla Stan. Pours black with a minimal beige head. Tons of rich roasted malts and whiskey barrels on the nose. Flavour has a great roasted malt character, dark chocolate, fairly subtle, but well-integrated whiskey barrels. Nice, old-school imperial stout.

250mL at The Bishops Arms Gamla Stan, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma has plenty of whiskey barrels upfront, almost an English toasted malt character, and dry roast. Flavour is rich, with a soft whiskey barrel character, moderate roast, burnt dark sugars, and English bready malt. Very good use of the whiskey barrels, but their presence is pretty subtly imparted. Very good.

250mL bottle at The Bishops Arms Gamla Stan. Pours black with tan head. Black rum and roasted malts on the nose. Flavour has dark rum barrels, roasted malts, soy sauce; fairly dry finish. Nice, but comes together rather oddly; doesn't really live up to the hype.

On tap at The Bishops Arms Gamla Stan. Pours clear gold with a white head. Warm malts, light brown sugar on the nose. Flavour has fermented wheat, floral, some herbal grass. Not bad.

250mL bottle at The Bishops Arms Gamla Stan, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with intense rum barrels, soy sauce, marmite, and roasted malt. Flavour is full of marmite, soft rum barrels, gentle roast, and soy sauce. Has some odd flavour characteristics that I wouldn’t normally get past but they seem to work reasonably well here. Good but, as usual, overhyped and overpriced.
