22 oz bottle. Pours black with a deep tan head. Aroma is exactly as the name and description suggest, mint chocolate cookie, beyond that suggesting licorice, slight roasted coffee. Minty cocoa flavor, slightly medicinal hinting at cherries and licorice. Be nicer with a fuller palate, though.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass; no bottle dating, but was released in bottles recently. Pours completely pitch black color with a nice dense 2 finger very dark tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, mint leaves, toast, light char, light coffee, and light herbal hops. Very nice aromas with good balance, strength, and complexity of dark roasted notes with moderate mint presence. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, mint leaves, roasted malt, light coffee, light char, toast, herbal, and light roasted earthiness. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, mint, roasted malt, toast, coffee, light char, herbal, and light roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of dark roasted flavors with moderate mint; with zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with pretty much zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice stout! Nice amount of robustness and balance of roasted flavors with moderate mint flavor; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Pours a clear amber orange with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a bit earthy pine and grass with a earthy grain backbone. Flavor is full of pine and resin with an earthy grain backbone.

Draft at the 2012 Michigan Brewer’s Guild Winter Beer Festival, Grand Rapids. Hazy orange body. Smells like an anus...er, faded hops and dead people. Toasty and resinous, with some fruit tartness. Oh, and it didn’t really smell that bad.

Sample at Kalamazoo Beer Exchange. Clear golden-amber pour with a medium foamy white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. The aroma consists of citrusy hops and malt. Light body with a mildly bitter hops character and notes of grapefruit and malt. The finish is lightly hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Sampled at EBF Saturday afternoon. Solid black color with an off white head. Smells of chocolate and peppermint. Yup its a thin mint. Taste is very heavy on the mint with bits of chocolate and roast. medium body and carbonation level with a sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. Decent beer and an A for creativity.

Had on draft at different locations in the breweries limited distribution area where we had meals. This is a good session beer and went well with our pub grub meals--fish/chips, burgers, etc.
