16 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 6/20/2018. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy lemon juice, zest, cracker, corn, white bread, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of lemon juice/zest, pale malt/corn, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy lemon juice, zest, cracker, corn, white bread, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy/zesty bitterness and citrus tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy lemon juice, zest, cracker, corn, white bread, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Great robustness and balance of lemon juice/zest, pale malt/corn, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/tartness balance; and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Very clean and not yeasty. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/tartness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a great fruited cream ale. All around great robustness and balance of lemon juice/zest, pale malt/corn, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the mildly tart/bitter finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Great balance of vibrant citrus and clean pale malt/corn flavors; with mild earthy hop balance. I really liked that this kept the base style character intact, and added the fruit on top of it. It doesn't feel like a shandy like I expected. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, whiskey, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of tart cherry, cranberry, lemon, raisin, red grape, green apple, funk, smoke, char, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, whiskey barrel, and light-moderate fruity/acidic yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, whiskey, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of tart cherry, cranberry, lemon, raisin, red grape, green apple, funk, smoke, char, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light roast/char bitterness, bourbon/oak spiciness, and lactic tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of nutty coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, whiskey, toasted oak, dark/brown bread, cherry, cranberry, dark fruit, light smoke/char, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, whiskey barrel, and light-moderate fruity/acidic yeast flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet, bourbon/oak spiciness, and yeast tartness balance; with zero puckering/cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from roast bitterness, oak spiciness, and tartness. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky/tannic/acidic mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.5%, with minimal barrel booze lingering after the finish. Overall this is an awesome barrel aged sour stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, whiskey barrel, and light-moderate fruity/acidic yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/tart/tannic/drying finish. Just as impressive as the regular BBA. Awesome balanced fruity/nutty coffee and rich malt complexity; with great barrel integration/balance. Brett/Lacto presence is not overwhelming, and adds a pleasing extra layer of complexity to the beer. A really enjoyable offering. Very unique and well made.

Aromas of lightly tart cherry, lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and brown bread; with light notes of hay, straw, grass, lacto/musty funk and yeast/oak earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky/light acidic yeast, dark/bready malt, and bourbon barrel notes; with good strength. Taste of lightly tart cherry, lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and brown bread; with light notes of hay, straw, grass, lacto/musty funk and yeast/oak earthiness. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, fairly tannic, and lightly acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.8%, with minimal barrel booze lingering after the finish. Overall this is a delicious barrel aged sour amber ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/light acidic yeast, dark/bready malt, and bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and easy to drink; with the mildy tart/tannic/drying finish, not overly lactic. Really well balanced Brett/Lacto complexity, dark/bready malt, and whiskey barrel presence/integration. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example. Not overwhelming on any aspect.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy orange gold with a small off-white head. Pine, grapefruit, tropical fruity hops in the aroma. Very juicy flavor, grapefruit, tropical fruit, and pine, with a pretty nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. In all, very good.

On tap at Slow’s Detroit. Pours a clear gold with an amber hue with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy grass and light citrus with bread and grains backing. Flavor has earthy grains and grass with earthy citrus underlying.

Expensive bottle from a cheese store in frankenmuth, heheh. Pale bubbly pour is entertaining, all that foaming and rolling carbonation. Creates a plateau above the edge of the glass. Slight perfume nose. Big bold beefy bitter blasting bullshit. Terribly on style. I have no respect for it, just like its lacking for me. Rude, so bitter, radical, so bitter, racing bitter cloying cutthroat. If you like cunning IPA, you gotta tries this big brain brandishing beer, ignore my numbers, its dead on. Hate this style. Brazen. Rude ass mah stah fah.

12 oz bottle. Pours deep red brown with a light tan head. Malty aroma hinting at cocoa and molasses, with some grassy hops. Flavor is toasty malt and rye flavor, some grassy hops, touches of pine and grapefruit, with a definite bitterness to it. Not sure how old the bottle is, but it's pretty good, really.
