This beer pours a clear golden color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing. Aroma of piney hop, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Glass at the brewery - turbid purplish red with a soapy off white lace - nose of whole, earthy plums, red grape must, cherry skins, pepper, toffee/caramelized sugars - full mouthfeel, low carbonation - sweet, but tempered by a moderate tartness and acidity - caramel, chocolate, plum, red wine - a slowly developing phenolic spiciness eventually comes to the fore for the finish - really tasty stuff.

8 ounce at the brewery - inky black pour - zero head - nose of charred barrel, vanilla, espresso, bourbon, black cherry skins - slick mouthfeel, minimal carbonation - deep espresso flavor, intense bitter dark chocolate, sweet vanilla, oak, dark fruit, smoke - finishes with some alcohol warmth and bourbon flavor - well-executed.

Taster at the brewery - hazy dark amber - nose of sweetened citrus, smoke, Cherry, sherry, oak - thin-bodied, watery texture, hot alcohol - flavor is heavy on the scotch - peaty and boozy - an underlying citric tartness and hop bitterness tries the balance the somewhat one-dimensional, almost sugary sweetness - finish of sweetened grapefruit and lingering peat, an odd earthy, leathery funk - messy and weird.

Taster at the brewery - lightly hazy gold - nose of candied citrus and pine - flavor is sweet, but clean, not sticky or heavy, and the dense tropical and citrus hop profile adds a bitterness and tanginess that balances well, considering the abv - finish is a little hot, but not as much as I expected - thereβs a weird b vitamin thing running through the middle, though - okay for what it is.

Ten ounce at the brewery - clear gold pour - lively carbonation - nose of honey, floral hops, light caramel - moderately creamy texture - rich maltiness, mostly Pils and Munich, but the character of the eye comes through late - floral hops, a touch of spiciness, and lingering Munich richness finish - pretty good.

Pint at Station 26 - turbid brown - deeply smoky nose, with some hints of clove and overripe apple- flavor is intensely smoky, which is fine by me, but the texture is watery and there is a moderate underlying sourness that I find off-putting - some banana, clove, nuts - the choice of Citra hops creates an odd tang to the finish - I was super excited for this one and am really disappointed.

Shaker pint draft at Terminal Bar in Denverβs Union Station. The pour is slight hazed golden copper with a smallish off white head. The aroma is brightly resinous, pine, grapefruit, honey and an herbal malt towards the back. The taste is as advertised, super juicy citrus grapefruit right away, followed closely by the pine resin and finishing with honey herbal. The palate is medium bodied, active carbonation with bright citrus pine dry finish. Perfect beer to have on the patio at Union Station.

Can - another solid offering in this series, even given my general dislike of the hop - clean, lightly sweet malt base - complex hop profile of pine resin, pepper, garlic, cedar - finish is spicy and perhaps lightly abrasive, but fairly solid.
