Description
Founded in 1900, Cervezas Ambar is an independent Spanish brewery that maintains the spirit of a constantly evolving family enterprise. With 18 beer varieties, it has more specialities than any other brand. It continues to produce beer at the same brewery where it began operations in the early part of the last century, located in the historic San José neighbourhood. There they maintain the craft processes of the 20th century, with their own malting facility and the only open vat fermentation room still in use anywhere in Spain.

Cloudy blond colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have some caramelised sugars. Also orange and mango notes too. Decent body. For a mass produced Spanish IPA it is decent.

bottle from mercadona in peguera, mallorca, spain. clear dark orange, small white head. aroma is toasted malts, faint dried fruits. flavor is fruits, fruit jam, malts. tastes like a fruity classic/vienna style beer. --- Beer aliased from original tick of 1897 Tostada on 14 Apr 2023 at 12:45 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. Original review text: The other 1897 tostada is likely an alias to this one. This can848000 667755 was brewed by bebinter well malty aroma, a bit dough, some finer notes of bitter caramel. Not bad at all. flavor is metallic, malts, almost note of burnt plastic, faint white bread, hops are pretty decent and low&faint to match the rest well. The beer has good and bad sides to it, sometimes feels a bit like a mess, however, the overall impression right out the fridge is the beer version of a good caramel and vanilla forward dessert.

Many thanks for this beer to Jacek Wigier (wineofdreams@gmail.com) Limited Edition Bottle. W smaku konfitura z platkow roz, lawenda, pieprz, no i spadz, mnostwo zywicznej spadzi. Sosnowe w aromacie. Niesamowicie finezyjne i fantastyczne.

330ml bottle at Sol y Luna. Stable off-white head over a bright amber coloured body. Spotty lacing. Restrained aroma of caramel malts, semi dry. Bread, caramel and a note of biscuit to the taste profile. Mid-sweet malt driven finish, distant notes of alcohol. Does not feel that strong. Okay with the fish 'n chips at cafe. (Alfaz Del Sol 29.03.2019).

200ml on tap at Sol y Luna. White head diminishing over a clear late straw coloured body. Lacing rings down the glass. Modest aroma of grain, mid-dry. Pale malty taste with a light caramel touch, hints of cardboard. Discreet bitter endnotes. Decent lager version. (Alfaz Del Sol, 29.03.2019)
