Description
Founded in 1900, Cervezas Ambar is an independent Spanish brewery that maintains the spirit of a constantly evolving family enterprise. With 18 beer varieties, it has more specialities than any other brand. It continues to produce beer at the same brewery where it began operations in the early part of the last century, located in the historic San José neighbourhood. There they maintain the craft processes of the 20th century, with their own malting facility and the only open vat fermentation room still in use anywhere in Spain.

Bottled(330ml). -From Coop supermarket in Torri d’Europa, Trieste.
Nice amber coloured, medium sized tan head, malty alcoholic nose. Sweet malty and slight caramel aroma with notes of nuts and toffee. Also notes of alcohol but in a pleasant way. Long lasting malty aftertaste. Excellent beer. This is Vienna, not ESL.

33 cL bottle; couldn’t make out the bb date, but seems to end in 05. Nice fresh, light malt aroma accompanied by noble hop. Darkish brassy gold color with a white head that quickly flattened. Near medium bodied, with moderate, creamy carbonation. It starts very fresh, with a grapey, fruity note. The malt is only moderately sweet, and it seems the hops are fruit and floral. The finish is crisp, clean, and has enough bitter to balance. Actually a pleasure to drink this one. Probably because there was enough floral character to reward an ale palate. It is good stuff, and I might prefer it to some of the lighter, relatively tasteless, ales.
