Many thanks to rosenbergh for this beer!. Fresh smooth beginning. Easy to drink but not too deep. Floral grainy body, a bit sticky, fresh and smooth. Not much bitterness in the aftertaste, pine, grain and quite dry.

(Keg at Kitty’s. 20151031) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, liquorice, dark chocolate and sweetness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, liquorice, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste had liquorice and bitterness. A taste roasty brew.

Draught @ [ SOPP 2015 ] @ Railway Square / Rautatientori, Helsinki, Finland . [ As Pyynikin Papan Vanilla Stout ].Clear dark red - black brown color with a average to large, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocoalte - sweet chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, vanilla, sweet malt, sweet chocolate. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20150722]

Bottle 330ml. @ [ PBF X ] Petalax Beer Festival 2015 by oh6gdx, Petalax, Finland. [ As Pyynikin Sissi Ale ].Unclear medium yellow amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, pale malt, caramel, fruity, earthy, cardboard. Flavor is light to moderate sweet with a average duration, earthy, plastic, thin, malty. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20150725]

Tap @Olutexpo 23.10.2015. Pitch black colored beer with a thin brown head. Loaded with smoke, smoked meat and chimney. Flavor had smoked meat, bbq notes, peat and malt. A nice smoked beer, good drinkability as well.

Pours pitch black with a small bubbly head. Aroma of leather, smoke, wood, peat, burnt rubber and roastiness. Taste is leathery, smoky and burnt with hints of licorice and smoked fish. Finish is leathery and smoky with some fishy notes and burnt roastiness. Loads of leather and smoked salmon here.

Pours yellowish orange with a small head. Aroma of stingy fruits, lemon, citrus, hints of grass and earthy notes. Taste is stuffy, sweetish and grassy with hints of stingy fruits and earthiness. Finish is messy and stuffy. Not that good.

Sampled bottled @ Fête de la Bière Finlandaise. Wow what a brewery name, unpronounceable for me. Black, small mocha bubbles. Nose is thick herbal, oily licorice, boozy with molasses & no noticeable hops (wowza this is far from intended style). Taste is herbal, bitter molasses, big herbal syrupy roasted bark, molasses, faintly medicinal, weird,… Body is a bit watery, like watered down molasses & syrup. Very off-style. Weird, manageable in a bizarre way but not really successful.
