Description
In mythology, literature and many cultures, the Raven is seen as a culture hero, a revered and benevolent, transformative figure. The Raven helps people, blesses them with gifts and shapes the world. But at the same time, he is a frivolous trickster, a light-hearted prankster who is sometime gluttonous and impatient. The Raven as our totem works perfectly. We like to think we are creative, wise, playful and a bit bird-brained; just like those wacky Ravens.

22 oz bottle poured. Picked up at Rocky's. A mostly clean, darker golden pour. A ton of thick foam head that lasts. Interesting to see a variation come out for these guys. A new and interesting beer in a $5 bomber will get a buy from me almost every time. Juicy fruit aroma, plenty of hop character. Thinner body. Plenty of tropical fruit going in as expected. Has a slight gin botanical and floral like note to it, it at least it seems. Interesting IPA for sure.

Aromaz are mainly lots of caramel and some fresh hops. Flavors are mainly caramel malts grains bitterness some yeast and very little hop flavor. This beer has been constantly refrigerated. It's not an IPA anymore.

Bottle from Tavor Hazy deep golden color with a small bubbly off white head that persists. Earthy resinous citrus and pine against and old school bready caramel maltiness. Clean well made IPA.

Pours a nice somewhat dark amber from a bottle. Nondescript aroma, flavor is slightly bitter and fruity. Nothing earth-shattering or horrible. Good beer.

Sample during the "Micah's Downstairs Reopening" tasting on 03/02/2018. Dark amber pour with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of fruit, malt and slight hops. Medium body with flavors of blueberry, mild floral hops, malt and a hint of vanilla. The finish is fruity with a berry aftertaste. Decent overall.

500 mL bottle, corked. Much thanks to Tcon for saving this one for me. Also fun to try this blind at first, and give it some guesses. A solid sour brown, and a series that I'm glad made the cut for now, and hopefully future releases. Dark black cherry color pour. Cherry sour aroma, and inviting. An intense, but not over the top sour cherry constant. Appropriate level of sour for the sourhead in your life. Has a dominant red wine character that lingers underneath the cherry. A delicious, well made, strong cherry sour. This is the style where Black Raven really shows off their abilities.
