Description
In mythology, literature and many cultures, the Raven is seen as a culture hero, a revered and benevolent, transformative figure. The Raven helps people, blesses them with gifts and shapes the world. But at the same time, he is a frivolous trickster, a light-hearted prankster who is sometime gluttonous and impatient. The Raven as our totem works perfectly. We like to think we are creative, wise, playful and a bit bird-brained; just like those wacky Ravens.

Dark brown. No head, rich fruity molasses nose, soft body and deep fruitiness, touch of barrel influence.

Pours a black from a bottle, khaki head with some lacing. Dark chocolate aroma, flavor is a bit o' this, bit o' that, chocolate, coffee, nothing unsurprising nor bad. Not sweet, which is somewhat refreshing in an impy stout. Good beer.

Bottle from Safeway. Pours out a bright orange, golden, lasting foamy head. Aroma is citrus, malts, some light bitterness. Taste continues with minor sweet malts, oranges, mild hoppiness. Incredibly smooth. Tasty too.

Looks like Proto Pale is back! Years of retirement, and an itch to come back. A clean and clear golden pour. Rich malt, grassy hop aroma. Flavor is cool, clean up front. Biting hops, smooth but thin caramel. Moderately bitter finish. Good pale.
