Description
In mythology, literature and many cultures, the Raven is seen as a culture hero, a revered and benevolent, transformative figure. The Raven helps people, blesses them with gifts and shapes the world. But at the same time, he is a frivolous trickster, a light-hearted prankster who is sometime gluttonous and impatient. The Raven as our totem works perfectly. We like to think we are creative, wise, playful and a bit bird-brained; just like those wacky Ravens.

Amber. Sort of a bland caramel character, but with a touch of brett. Not super complex, despite the brett accent. I wouldn’t call this biere de garde, but the bigger issue is that its not that great a beer.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of wood, light brett, concrete, and earthy notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with dry wood, light brett, some oak, pear and concrete. Very dry and woody. Not totally authentic, but it's not too far off. Decent.

Draft 7 oz pour at Black Raven, Redmond. Pours a near black, with a rocky tan foam head. Total breakfast beer here. Huge mocha aroma, Chocolate more so than coffee as a stand out. Flavor is swapped. A ton of coffee throughout, and a creamy milk chocolate secondary. Flavorful. Very well put together stout here. A little bitter on the late palate, but everything seems to be right with this. Awesome.
